After this result Rainham 2 are one point ahead of visitors Luton 3 in 3rd and 4th places in the Div 1 table. When these two evenly matched sides met in the first half of the season it was a draw and this time Rainham needed a straight legs Doubles victory to secure the 6-4 victory. Three of the first  four games needed a decider but Rainham had the advantage and took a 3-0 lead. Mick Hambelton and Nick Trythall for Rainham and Ian Sayer and Leigh Hickey for Luton all got doubles and John Coleman completed Phil Goldsmith's winless evening. 2nd place is still a possibility for either side as Rainham have to play Howard 3 twice but Luton face another difficult fixture next week when they host leaders Parkwood.
