Dinah, or Di, was the youngest of 4 children, and grew up playing Table Tennis alongside her sister Pauline.

Di was the mother of 2 Children, 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren, alongside the many other non-related youngsters to whom she took under her wing during her time in not just Table Tennis, but also Athletics.

During the mid-60’s Di played for the club Brown Brothers, in London, and continued to play there until 1970.

During the latter part of the 60’s, circa 1968-69, Dinah, was coaching Athletics at the Kings School in Rochester. It was the keen interest of her enthusiasm for Table Tennis that encouraged many of the Kings School students to want to play Table Tennis in a local league, which brought about the formation of the club Nomads in the Medway league in the early 70’s.

Dinah was a highly active member of the Medway Table Tennis league and held various committee positions extending to 20 years’ service for the league.

Dinah eventually hung up her bat around 2007, at the young age of 72. Some health issues had prompted her to do this, along with finally retiring from the position of PA to the City of London Authority, and the Honorable Irish Society.

After retirement Dinah and her husband Dave, moved to Sellindge, Ashford to live with their daughter Susan.

As of yet no funeral arrangements have been made, but it was Dinah’s wish that, rather than flowers, any donations to be sent to either Dogs Trust, Dogs Rehoming & Dog Rescue Charity | Dogs Trust, or Donkey Sanctuary, Share our sparkle | The Donkey Sanctuary, two charities that she was an avid supporter of and had made regular donations to them herself.
